- In Mifos, a product refers to a financial product: a type of loan or savings account, and its associated attributes. A single MFI will typically have several products, for example, a 4-year housing loan, a 2-year educational loan, and a mandatory savings account. The product provides the terms and definitions of these different programs to the Mifos system.

- This pacakge includes the master data related to Products. This includes: Product Types are the financial services provided by the MFIs to their clients. These are pre-defined at HO level. System defines the complete behaviour of the product types, but allows the users to change the nomenclature referring these product types.
